A pair of colourful triplet opal stud earrings in a fine bezel setting. The triplet opal is oval, predominately blue and green with orange, and measures 9X7mm. There is a post and butterfly at the top of the oval which allows the earring to drop slightly off the ear lobe. Perfect for any occasion!

Triplet opal is a fine layer of Australian light opal that has been bonded onto a dark backing with a domed layer of clear quartz over the opal to protect it. Triplet opals are a fraction of the cost of solid opals, yet they display all the vivid colours. It is important not to wear triplet opal in water.

Australian solid opals are among the most precious gemstones in the world and are known for their eye-catching beauty and array of vivid colours. They range from 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness. Solid opal can be worn in water, however they do not like detergents, makeup or any chemicals. It requires care when wearing so as to not scratch or break the stone.
