Turquoise is a mineral stone that is a lovely blueish green colour. It’s considered to be a rare stone that is a combination of aluminium and copper. Turquoise of stunning beauty has been mined in Iran (formerly known as Persia) for over 5000 years. Although Iranian production accounts for just a small proportion of the world’s total output, its turquoise still sets the standard for quality. The turquoise in this pendant is a blue colour which is a more highly valued colour. Sky blue turquoise from Iran is generally regarded as the most desirable.
